Developer Thoughts

I am a big fan of the Tetris The Grandmaster (TGM) series by Arika, TGM3 in particular. In my view, the Arcade Mode is a game design masterpiece and it has given me a lot of inspiration for what is now the Daily Challenge in Bubbits. Please let me know what you think on our Discord!

Account System Information

All accounts will carry over to the full game on release.

You can combine accounts of all platforms, even if you have already played!

You can only merge/link one account for each platform.

Bugfixes

• Fixed a bug that lead to multiple server crashes today.

Sorry for the inconvenience! There were tons of smaller patches between v0.900 and v0.918 as well with robustness improvements. Royale Final aborts will happen less often. The VS Mode has also received lots of smaller fixes!

Developer Thoughts

This Update got a lot bigger than anticipated! Enjoy VS Mode! Instead of talking more about all these features, I would like to briefly talk about something that was not planned: Accessibility Mode. I met somebody who works with kids and creates custom devices so kids facing certain challenges can still interact with a PC and e.g. click a mouse button. I found that amazing and together we thought about what it would take to make Bubbits work for these kids. Welcome: Accessibility Mode. My goal for Bubbits is to bring smiles and laughter to everybody and this was a moment to live up to that.

• Scroll mouse wheel to use hold (this one feels really good!!)

Developer Thoughts

This update is a really important one for me. Bubbits controls felt alright before, but I always felt like they could be even more tight.

Prior to the big netcode update earlier this year, it was technically not possible to have players taking actions in a quicker succession. Now that it is possible, I am so happy that I can tighten up the controls to the next level, even in Multiplayer!

Notes

Thank you for all your feedback!! The new netcode in Update 3 is looking pretty stable! There are still some issues to iron out, but I am happy with the current state and confident that we can make global servers work now!

This is the biggest demo update yet and I expect there to be more bugs than usual, especially due to the new netcode.

If we can iron out the remaining netcode bugs, Bubbits will be able to support global servers without region locks!
